Once a Week Newsletter #18 – Virtual Assistants, Trends, and Content Repurposing

Once a Week Newsletter #18

Welcome to another edition of the Once a Week Newsletter! This is Number 18.

But before we get started, how in the heck are you? Up here in the Pacific Northwest, it's cold and rainy. By this time, there should be snow on the ground. There is, but not here. LOL

My oldest claims that it always snows the day of the Super Bowl. So looking forward to the white stuff on Sunday!

But until then, the forecast is…RAIN! It IS the PNW, after all, and the rainy season, also called every month except August and September, is here. It just hasn't been cold enough to snow yet.

I hear the Northeast is getting their share and our share this year. I guess that's okay. The kids miss the snow play.

It really makes no difference to me, except that, right now, I don't have any snow to shovel. I never understood how anybody actually liked doing that.

Alright, are you ready? Let's get it on!

How to Become a Virtual Assistant And Work on Your Own Terms
Wanted to help top entrepreneurs grow their businesses while working with flexibility? Becoming a virtual assistant may be the path for you and here’s how to get started.

Bottom line: I have a number of clients who need virtual assistants. This is a freelance job that is perfectly suited for the work-from-home crowd (which is nearly all of us now during the Forever Pandemic).

Chasing the cool kids
Quick! Get on Myspace, it's where all the good stuff is. Wait! Better build your following on Facebook. It's a land rush and once you amass enough followers…hell build your own virtual real estate.

Bottom line: I've said a million times in my emails to you, my old Meetups, and right here on the blog that you should never be a sharecropper. That is to say, own your own assets. Don't rent them. Build them, improve them, and watch them grow in value. NOBODY but nobody can take away what you've built on your own virtual real estate.

Or can you?

Get More Out of Your Content with Amy Woods: Content Repurposing 101
Content repurposing is the act of creating content for multiple communication channels. But getting it right can be tricky.

Bottom line: Another thing I've reiterated over the decades is repurposing your content. You give a lot to your content – it should give back to you. This newsletter is a perfect example: I post it here first, then I send it out to my OWN subscribers. It's also plastered over the social media channels that are important to me.

Internet Marketing Gimmicks #37

If you're like me, you get hundreds of emails a day, along with countless tweets and Facebook updates, many of which originate from "internet marketers." Most of this stuff is just internet marketing gimmicks. I got one today. It is pretty tame but nevertheless it's a marketing gimmick, designed to get you to act on something when you really wouldn't otherwise. Sometimes, they're disguised as "calls to action," like "Click the buy button now." Except they have an additional hook or fear Read more...and please RT, like, and share.

Think Article Directories Are Dead?

Think again! Article directories are far from dead. Read on. I just went over to Alexa, and while nobody's web statistics are 100 percent accurate (how could they be?), I found this:   [caption id="attachment_6041" align="aligncenter" width="562"] Alexa ranking for Ezinearticles.com[/caption] Alexa is a great way to compare the relative traffic of one site over another. The lower the "Alexa Traffic Rank," the better. The rank of 379 means that, according to Alexa's data, Read more...and please RT, like, and share.
