OWN #23 – What Does Royalty-Free Really Mean and More!

Royalty-free, NFTs, Blockchain, and WordPress (and MORE!)

Welcome to another edition of the Once a Week Newsletter! This is Number 23.

I usually begin each of these weekly newsletters with a story or recap of the last week.

This week is no exception!

It's hard to believe that we played in snow last week. This week is TOTALLY SPRING and it's weird. It's certainly not warm yet, but it sure is sunny and beautiful!

It also feels like “life spring.” Like a new beginning. It's a weird feeling. We've been in the middle of a terrible pandemic for a year now and yesterday I got my first dose the Pfizer vaccine!

Yay me.

Luckily, my wife came with me and they asked if she wanted a shot, too, and she said she didn't qualify…and they said, “Park over there.” They came out a few minutes later and gave her the vaccine, too.

No ill effects, other than a slightly sore shoulder and some fatigue at the end of the day. I, fortunately, fell asleep before anything else happened.

My wife wasn't so lucky. She felt icky before she fell asleep so that kept her up late. She said it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, either.

In other news, I've started a new, non-internet marketing newsletter. If you want a glimpse of it, head on over to My Daily Grind News. Sign up at the bottom.

Finally, before we get to the latest OWN, I wanted to share a very brief recommendation with you – I'm LOVING SendFox! It's great for running a newsletter. You should check it out. It's $49 and makes sending newsletters a breeze. Plus, it's got “smart campaigns” that collect your blog posts INTO a ready-made newsletter.

Essentially, you set up the campaign in a couple clicks, let it do its thing, and when it's time to publish your newsletter, you click a button.

It's that simple (said in my best in-my-head Ross Perot voice).

Plus, it makes super-easy opt-in and landing pages. These are great for beginning internet marketers.

If you're an OWN subscriber (if you're not, you should be!), you're getting this newsletter sent to your inbox via SendFox.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Alright, onto OWN #23…

As always, make it a great day!

Get your vaccine ASAP. Don't worry about which one you should get – the one you should get is the one first available. The sooner we get people vaccinated, the sooner we can “return to normal.”

Internet Marketing Gimmicks #37

If you're like me, you get hundreds of emails a day, along with countless tweets and Facebook updates, many of which originate from "internet marketers." Most of this stuff is just internet marketing gimmicks. I got one today. It is pretty tame but nevertheless it's a marketing gimmick, designed to get you to act on something when you really wouldn't otherwise. Sometimes, they're disguised as "calls to action," like "Click the buy button now." Except they have an additional hook or fear Read more...and please RT, like, and share.

Think Article Directories Are Dead?

Think again! Article directories are far from dead. Read on. I just went over to Alexa, and while nobody's web statistics are 100 percent accurate (how could they be?), I found this:   [caption id="attachment_6041" align="aligncenter" width="562"] Alexa ranking for Ezinearticles.com[/caption] Alexa is a great way to compare the relative traffic of one site over another. The lower the "Alexa Traffic Rank," the better. The rank of 379 means that, according to Alexa's data, Read more...and please RT, like, and share.
