How to Download a Wistia Video File

How to download a Wistia video, explained

In this short video tutorial, I will show you how to download a Wistia video.

I have tried this on a number of videos, both ON Wistia and off, including on some Click Funnel sites. I'm not telling you this so that you can do anything nefarious.

The reason I sought to learn how to download a Wistia video is because I got an email from a person I bought an infoproduct from – it was a webinar replay that he was taking down in the next 24 hours and I knew I would not have time to watch it.

So downloading the video became a prime objective.

Here's how I did it. Now, this example is using a video right off Wistia. It is NOT the video I wanted to download. Rest assured though, that I got the video I was looking for. Now, I can watch it at my leisure.

Step 1: Right-click Wistia video and copy the link.

Step 2: Paste that code into a notepad (text) editor like so:

<p><a href=”https://wistia.com/series/brandwagon?wchannelid=u2joyabsw9&wvideoid=mgj008fjp0&wvideo=mgj008fjp0“><img src=”https://embedwistia-a.akamaihd.net/deliveries/f4f8d848fe977f7d1cabe8c56dea445e.jpg?image_play_button_size=2x&image_crop_resized=960×540&image_play_button=1&image_play_button_color=26d98ae0″ width=”400″ height=”225” style=”width: 400px; height: 225px;”></a></p><p><a href=”https://wistia.com/series/brandwagon?wchannelid=u2joyabsw9&wvideoid=mgj008fjp0&wvideo=mgj008fjp0″>Brandwagon – A Wistia Original Series</a></p>

Step 3: Find the entry for “wvideo”. In this case, it's mgj008fjp0

Step 4: Paste that into this URL:

https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/WVIDEO?videoFoam=true

So here, it would be: https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/mgj008fjp0?videoFoam=true

Step 5: Type/paste this into a browser tab URL address:

view-source:https://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/mgj008fjp0?videoFoam=true

Step 6: Find “.bin” Copy/paste that URL into a new browser tab. Change the .bin to .mp4. Press Enter.

Step 7: Download it by right-clicking and “Save Video as…”

That's it! Enjoy.

Put All Your Eggs in One Basket!

But not just ANY basket. You may have noticed that Facebook was down for a L – O – N – G time today. So was Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp (all Facebook apps, or “crapps,” as I call them – LOL). To most of the world, this would bother them. It certainly bothered some heavy FB advertising folks. I suspect the real loss today was in the billions. FB stock lost about $50 billion in market cap. OUCH. But the real question is this: Did it affect you? Did it affect your business? If it did, is there anything you can do to mitigate future losses? The answer is a resounding “YES!”  I've harped on this and at you for over a DECADE now – OWN your own real estate. Don't be a sharecropper. When you run your business on another company's platform, their demise could be yours as well. Plus, they can kick you off their platform at any time for any reason. Just ask former President Trump. (Not to be political, but FB and YouTube kicked him off their plat...

December 22, 2020 (The Thing About Habits)

Whelp! I missed writing yesterday. *They say* that in order to make a thing a habit, you must do it 21 times consistently. I don't know if 21 is the right number. Why not 20? 23? 37? 3? What I do know is two isn't the magic number for creating a sustainable habit. So this is my third daily writing out of four (I don't write on weekends). Time to refocus, keep my eye on the prize, and keep pushing. On Starting a Podcast A thing I'd like to do in 2021 is a podcast. I wrote about this last time. I'm still pondering it. What would people like to see? I've listened to dozens, maybe hundreds of podcasts, and many are just dandy. They've found their product. I've yet to find mine. What about you? How's the weather? It snowed last night. We got about a 1/1000th of an inch. But the kids were giddy. And that's good enough for now. I've always wanted to get one of those “ weather machines .” They fascinate me. In fa...
